Our Guarantee

Galerie Inuit Plus GUARANTEE that all Inuit art we offer are genuine original, handmade pieces and we provide complete documentation to verify the authenticity of each Inuit work we sell. To assure your satisfaction, we also offer a 21 day money back guarantee.

Info/Customer Service

We are bilingual and are pleased to answer any of your questions regarding your order or any item we may offer in either English or French. Send your inquiries via e-mail to info@inuitplus.com.

You may also phone (1-705-267-7514) or fax (1-705-267-4659). If we are unavailable, please leave your name, phone/fax number and e-mail address along with your message, so that we may answer your request directly.

Packaging

We package the artwork very securely and use more packing than one would normally employ for shipping other items such as books. This is done to insulate the artwork, especially sculptures, from the dangers of shock, etc. during transit. Such packaging also requires more space. This may include packaging one item per box. It is best to be safe than sorry. Unfortunately, courier services calculate transportation charges based upon the chargeable weight of the package where the weight is the greater of the actual weight or the dimension weight (that is, a formula for weight based upon size). Our secure packing will usually see a dimension weight higher than the actual weight.

Prints and graphic artworks will generally be shipped flat and packaged in such a manner to assure the carrier can NEVER bend or fold the print.

Security of Shipments

All our orders are insured. Our shipments are also fully traceable.

If you receive a damaged item, PLEASE CALL GALERIE INUIT PLUS IMMEDIATELY at 1-705-267-7514 or e-mail us at info@inuitplus.com. For more information regarding our Guarantee and money back policy see Authenticity of Inuit Art under Art Info.

Shipping and Handling

Within the Continental USA we ship via United Parcel Service ("UPS") or other full service, major courier offering fully traceable shipping. Shipments via UPS Standard (ground) Service to the northern USA may take 5-7 working days while those to the southern states and west coast may take 7-10 working days. UPS Air Service is quicker but generally takes a minimum 4 working days from Timmins. Delivery times may also vary with season and Custom clearance schedules.

For more details about our FREE AIR Service Upgrades and FREE Shipping see Prices under Order Info.

Foreign Shipments (excluding the Continental USA) will be shipped via FedEx or other major courier depending upon the destination.

Within Canada, orders will be shipped via UPS Standard (ground) Service Courier or Canada Post Expresspost with signature option.

You must provide complete and accurate delivery information including postal or Zip code. We need this information to calculate the shipping fee. UPS also requires a street address for delivery and may not be able to complete delivery if the address/phone numbers provided are incomplete. Customers will be charged the "re-shipping" fees for a wrong delivery address supplied to us.

Taxes We Collect (GST and PST)

USA and Foreign Orders: We charge NO GST or PST SALES TAXES on these orders.

Canadian Orders: All Canadian orders will have a 7% Goods and Service Tax (GST) added to the invoice (Atlantic Canada will see the HST). Only Ontario orders will have the 8% Ontario Sales Tax (PST) added to their invoice.

Customs Duty and Other Taxes

There is NO CUSTOMS DUTY to the USA for Inuit art. This is also true for most other countries. Galerie Inuit Plus also provides free Customs Brokerage Services for routine Customs clearance.

For Non-USA Foreign orders, please note that the purchaser is responsible for any municipal, state or federal sales taxes or other taxes (example, Value Added Tax or VAT) levied at purchaser's destination including any disbursement fees for paying such taxes, etc.

Foreign Import Restrictions

Several countries have banned importation of certain animal materials (see Non-Stone Materials). In particular, the United States, Canada and many European countries have banned the importation of ivory to protect elephants. Canada recognizes the difference between elephant ivory and walrus ivory and Inuit sculptures employing walrus ivory are legal in Canada. Most other countries do not discriminate between the source of ivory and walrus ivory is affected by their import restriction.

Fossilized whalebone is not a banned substance in most jurisdictions, however, the difficulty in distinguishing it from current whalebone, which is covered by the import restriction on whale products by many countries, may make it near impossible to import fossilized whalebone into many countries.

Because of the problems associated with importing both fossilized whalebone and walrus ivory, Galerie Inuit Plus will not knowingly sell sculptures using whalebone or ivory to addresses outside of Canada.

There may be other custom restrictions regarding importing items into your country. If you are uncertain about importing any item into your country, we recommend you check with your local customs officials before ordering such items. Galerie Inuit Plus accepts no responsibility for items seized or returned by your country's custom officials.
